I discovered Gaia Dream Avatar and have been having too much fun with it, so I thought it might be interesting to do an avatar for each of the characters in the web comic (that have appeared so far). The joke was originally going to be about the obvious change in style, but it ended up going in a… different direction.

Technical note: I used Adobe Illustrator’s Live Trace to turn the avatars into vectors so they could be scaled larger and not look like crap. They obviously aren’t exact (Matt’s shirt is inverted, Scott’s shirt didn’t have anything on it, etc.) but it’s as close as I could get, and I like ‘em. I might use them again at some point, but for now this was just a one-off thing.
