WMU College of Aviation SiteI was employed with the Western Michigan Univerity’s College of Aviation for the 2007 and 2008 academic years. During that time, I had the pleasure of working with a number of great people that gave me the freedom to rethink nearly everything about the existing college web site.
The entire College of Aviation web site was rebuilt from the ground up, utilizing web standards and advanced web technologies. By utilizing a number of web standards and technologies—including XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, XSL, PHP, and Adobe Flash—I was able to reconstruct the College of Aviation web site with many new features, including RSS feeds and a photo gallery. At the same, site resource requirements were cut by two-thirds.
